Post Jam Update
The game jam this game was for has been over for a while now and I have been sitting on a lot of quality of life updates.
If you have any other ideas for changes feel free to leave a comment. Also, this list is not exhaustive I made a lot of changes a lot of which I probably don't remember, so make sure to try the new experience!
- Liquid drinking organisms now only seek blood and will not attack unless provoked
- Added scrolling background so you can more easily track your movement
- Added a timer to show how long you have survived
- Made AI more accurate (No more infinite circling of target)
- Made it less likely for mates to accidentally hit you on approach
- AI will now switch targets after 20 seconds if a closer one is available or the original target is too far away
- Carnivorous organisms should now eat the meat dropped from enemies
- Added better sounds with player specific sounds (Audio is also relative to the players position and rotation and has been quieted)
- Added heart indicator on organisms that are mating
- Made organisms involved in mating invincible for 1 second after they produce an offspring to try and prevent familial conflict
- The players color after mating is now a mix of the original 2 organisms
